Ways of Supporting Project Grant

Project Grant is extremely thankful for all of those that have contributed thus far to the residency (1st Fundraising Drive), along with recent contributors: Golden, Hyatt’s, Dorothea Braemer, Carl Lee and Terry Mickelson, but as Project Grant gears up to launch it’s first year of summer programming, there are still a few things that we could use.

1. Traveling costs add up and as we begin to plan visits, you could assist with sponsoring an Artist by donating your airline miles to Project Grant. Airlines that fly in/out of Buffalo include: American, Delta, Jet Blue, Southwest, Sunwing, United and U.S. Airways.

2. A Home Depot Gift Card, to assist us with purchasing initial tools and supplies needed for this summer that will be highly utilized over the coming years.

3. A B&H Gift Card that would be used to purchase capital equipment for the residency.

4. And You can always make a direct contribution that is 100% tax deductible by visiting our fiscal sponsor page here, or you can mail a check to: Cepa Gallery, 617 Main St Buffalo, NY 14203, with Project Grant noted on the memo line. All cash donations go towards supporting the overall programming of Project Grant, which includes paying the artists for their work with the residency.

Stay connected with Project Grant, by “Liking” it’s Facebook Page, and you’ll hear about all of the upcoming things we have planned.

ARTZ Talk

Project Grant presents, ARTZ Talk, a monthly gathering of individuals working on artistic projects that would like to discuss current happenings and share a consumable item (food or drink). A white walled studio space is available to hang work and/or use for projection. Three artists will have the floor to present projects among the group each night, from 7-10pm. To attend, please send a RSVP to tinamdillman@gmail.com, and specify if you would like to show work that evening, and what date you would like to attend: Feb 24, Mar 24 or Apr 28. Artists showing work each night is limited, so please RSVP. This event is free, with the exception of your consumable donation for the group. ARTZ Talk, is every fourth Tuesday of the month, Feb-April, starting at 7pm, at Project Grant, 195 ½ Grant Street, Buffalo.

Project Grant is a GO!

I would like to THANK everyone that supported Project Grant in this first round of fundraising. Whether it was through a monetary contribution or an in-kind donation, without YOUr generosity I would not be able to announce that Project Grant will be launching it’s first year of programming in 2015. Stay tuned for more details about Community Dinners, Artz Talk, and the Selected Artists in Residences for 2015. Project Grant is currently a fiscally sponsored project by Fractured Atlas, so if you would like to make a 100% tax deductible donation to Project Grant, please click here.

First Grant Awarded

Today, Project Grant was awarded a $500 grant from the Councilmember of the Niagara District, David Rivera! I feel truly honored to have the city’s support for Project Grant, but in order to receive these funds, I must first meet my target fundraising goal of $3000, and I am currently at 55% of that goal. You can help today, by making a 100% tax deductible donation through Hatchfund.

I know I can reach this goal.
IF:
55 people donated $25 or
28 people donated $50 or
19 people donated $75 or
14 people donated $100 or
6 people donated $250 or
any combination from above, would secure the launching of Project Grant.

Buffalo needs Project Grant and Project Grant needs Buffalo, and I need your help to make this happen. Please support Project Grant by clicking here.

New Year Updates

Project Grant has received some great local press thanks to Buffalo Rising and The Public. The fundraising campaign is currently at 50% of its goal, and I have until the end of January to secure the rest. In order for me to receive any of the donations, I need to reach my target goal of $3000. To make a tax deductible donation, and receive a great perk as a plus, please visit the Hatchfund site. Every donation matters!

Also in the news, I have a show opening January 9 at Big Orbit Gallery in Buffalo. I received some nice coverage by the Buffalo News, and The Public choose the event for its Friday night pick!

Seeking Support to Launch New Project

Seldom within one person do you find such an equilibrium, someone with utopian visions yet all the while grounded and pragmatic. This person is Tina Dillman. She is a First Responder Artist! – Paul Kos

In May of this year, I accomplished a long sought after dream, and earned my Master’s of Fine Arts, from the San Francisco Art Institute. After finishing, I received a fellowship to attend The Studio Program in Los Angeles, but shortly after arriving to LA, I received a call that changed everything, and brought me to the other side of the country. In returning to Central New York, I realized that what I was aspiring to do next was near the place I originally called home.

I found a house in Buffalo, NY that I plan to open in the Summer 2015, as, Project Grant, a 6-week socially engaged artist residency program that hosts one artist at a time in my home. Each artist will be provided a stipend, room/board, a studio and an exhibition space. I will be working with the artist to build relationships in the local community, to develop a site-specific public project that may include: classes, talks, readings, dinners, walks or performance/film/music events, in order to cultivate a discourse involving pertinent local/national/global issues.

Project Grant, is located in an up and coming neighborhood in Buffalo, where one could walk to the store, or local coffee shop, ride their bike to the park, and/or drive a short distance (15 minutes) to the art museums. The landlord is extremely supportive of my project, and believes I would be a great addition to the neighborhood. I am looking to host 3 Artists for my first year and double the number of artists in the program by 2016, and use the exhibition space during off months of the residency to exhibit local artists’ work.

In order to fully realize this goal I need to raise $3,000, by the end of the year, in order to secure the first artist in residence (June-July). If you are interested in supporting this project please visit the Hatchfund campaign site.

I thank you for supporting the arts and may all of our dreams become reality. Here’s to thinking of the future…
